Why use Jupitrr's online teleprompter?

Eyes stay on the lens

Drag the prompter next to your camera and size it to fit, so your gaze reads as eye contact, not reading.

Scrolls at your reading pace

Set speed in words per minute and adjust any time. Most people read comfortably at 140 to 170 WPM.

Private by design

Runs entirely in your browser. Your script is saved on your device and never uploaded to a server.

Works with real rigs

Mirror mode flips the text for beam-splitter rigs, and fullscreen plus keyboard shortcuts keep reading hands-free.

How it works

Paste your script

Drop in any text. Line breaks become natural pauses and paragraphs scroll with breathing room.

Dial in the speed

Set your pace in WPM — most people read aloud around 140–170. Tweak font size and column width to match your setup.

Press play and read

Position the teleprompter near your camera lens, drag it to size, and start reading. Pause any time to take a breath or restart from the top.

What is an online teleprompter?

The same scrolling-script rig news anchors use, minus the hardware.

An online teleprompter scrolls your script on screen while you read, so your eyes stay near the camera lens and the delivery sounds natural instead of memorized. With Jupitrr's Teleprompter, paste a script, set the pace in words per minute, and press play. The window drags anywhere on the page and resizes from the corner, so you can park the text right next to your webcam.

When to reach for it

LinkedIn & YouTube videos

Deliver a full script to camera without memorizing a line.

Talking-head recordings

Keep wording exact while your gaze stays near the lens.

Beam-splitter rigs

Mirror mode reads correctly through reflective prompter glass.

Practice reads

Rehearse pacing out loud before you press record.

Frequently asked questions

Is this teleprompter really free?
Yes. No signup, no watermark, no time limit. It runs entirely in your browser — your script never leaves your device.
Does it work on iPhone and iPad?
Yes. The teleprompter works on mobile Safari, Chrome, and all modern browsers. For hands-free operation on phone, rotate to landscape and tap fullscreen.
I want to record vertical video on my phone. What should I use?
For Reels, TikTok, and Shorts, the Jupitrr Cut Teleprompter iOS app is the better fit. It records line by line, auto-trims silence, and stitches your takes into one clean vertical video. On desktop, the portrait teleprompter recorder records in 9:16 straight from your webcam.
What is mirror mode for?
Beam-splitter prompter rigs (the ones that sit on top of a camera lens) reflect the screen through glass. That reflection is horizontally flipped — mirror mode pre-flips the text so it reads correctly in the reflection.
How is scroll speed calculated?
Speed is set in words per minute (WPM) — how people naturally think about reading pace. The teleprompter converts WPM to pixels-per-second based on your font size, line height, and column width, so the feel stays consistent across settings.
How do I stop my eyes from visibly moving while I read?
Three things fix this. Narrow the column width so each line is short and your eyes barely travel. Increase the font size and sit farther from the screen, since eye movement shrinks with distance. And position the teleprompter window as close to your camera lens as possible so your gaze lands next to the lens, not below it.
Are my scripts saved?
Your last script and settings are saved in your browser (localStorage). Come back tomorrow and they will still be there. Nothing is uploaded to a server.
Can I record myself with the prompter?
Yes — use the teleprompter + webcam combo. It puts the prompter text near your camera lens so your eyeline stays natural, and records just the webcam (not the prompter). On your phone, the Jupitrr Cut app goes further: it records your script scene by scene and auto jump cuts the takes into one clean video.
I do not have a script yet. What is the fastest way to write one?
Start with the free YouTube script writer. Describe your topic and it drafts spoken openings written for the camera. Paste the result straight into the teleprompter, adjust the wording to sound like you, and read.
The teleprompter gets stuck or will not scroll, what do I do?
Try refreshing the page and pressing space to play again. If the issue persists, try a different browser (Chrome, Edge, or the latest Safari work best).
