Is the background noise remover free?

What kind of noise does it remove?

Steady background noise around speech: hiss, hum, air conditioning, fans, keyboard rumble and room tone. It is trained for voices, so music, sound effects and ambience are treated as noise and reduced too.

Does it change the video quality?

No. For video files the picture is copied as is and only the audio track is replaced, so there is no re-encode and no quality loss.

Which formats can I use?

Audio: MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG and FLAC. Video: MP4, MOV, WebM and M4V, as long as your browser can decode them. Audio exports as MP3. Video exports as MP4, or WebM when the source video is VP8.

How do I compare before and after?

Noise removal starts as soon as the file loads. For audio files you get two players, Before and After, and starting one pauses the other. For video files the picture stays on screen with a Before and After toggle under it, so you hear each track against the same frames.

The voice sounds thin or robotic after cleaning. What can I do?

Lower the strength slider. Around 60 to 80 percent keeps most of the noise reduction while leaving more of the natural voice tone.
