MOV to MP4 Converter

Why use Jupitrr's MOV to MP4 converter?

Seconds, not minutes

Most MOV files already hold H.264 or HEVC video, so they are repackaged into MP4 without re-encoding.

Never uploaded

Your MOV file is converted inside your browser and never leaves your device.

Free, no watermark

No signup, no install, and nothing added to your file.

How it works

Choose a MOV file

Drop a MOV video up to 1 GB onto the converter, or pick it from your device.

Keep MP4 selected

MP4 is already selected. You can switch to another output format if you need one.

Convert and download

The video is converted in your browser. Preview the MP4 file, then download it.

What is a MOV to MP4 converter?

Same video, a container everything can open.

MOV is Apple's QuickTime container. It is what iPhones, QuickTime Player, and many cameras save, and it plays well on Apple devices but less reliably on Windows, Android, smart TVs, and some upload forms. MP4 is the most widely supported video container.

MOV and MP4 can hold the same H.264 or HEVC video and AAC audio, so converting usually means moving the streams into a new container without touching the picture. That is why most MOV files convert in seconds with no quality loss. Other codecs, such as ProRes, are re-encoded to H.264 when your browser can decode them.

When to reach for it

iPhone videos on Windows

Share an iPhone recording with someone who cannot open MOV files.

Upload forms that reject MOV

Some sites, LMS platforms, and ad tools only accept MP4.

Editing on any software

Hand a MOV clip to an editor or collaborator who works outside the Apple ecosystem.

Screen recordings from QuickTime

Turn a Mac screen recording into an MP4 for docs, tickets, or Slack.

Frequently asked questions

Does converting MOV to MP4 reduce quality?
Usually not. When the MOV holds H.264 or HEVC video, the converter copies the streams into MP4 without re-encoding, so the picture is identical. Quality only changes if the source codec has to be re-encoded, such as ProRes.
Will my iPhone MOV videos work?
Yes, in most browsers. iPhones record HEVC by default, which Safari and Chrome on most Macs can read. On Windows, HEVC needs hardware and system support. If the converter cannot read the video, set Settings > Camera > Formats to Most Compatible on the iPhone so new recordings use H.264.
Why does the converted MP4 still not play on my PC?
HEVC video is kept as HEVC so the file stays small and identical in quality. Some older Windows players cannot decode HEVC even inside an MP4. Re-record with Most Compatible, or play the file in a player with HEVC support.
Is my MOV file uploaded to a server?
No. The MOV file is read and converted by your browser on your device. It is never sent to Jupitrr, and closing or refreshing the tab clears the working files.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 1 GB can be converted. Larger files can run out of browser memory, so trim or compress very long recordings first.
